God you are Healer, Awesome in Power

There is an awesome song by Chris Tomlin called Our God, if you want the full lyrics, you can read them here. The Chorus goes like this:
“Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other, God, you are healer, awesome in power, our God, our God.”

God has used this song many times to remind me of who He is. He used this song to remind me that He could heal my knee (and He did, once I believed Him and trusted Him and sang the chorus over and over and over).  There is another part of the song that He is using to remind me of some other things right now too, “And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us, then what could stand against”.

You see, Saturday is the beginning of something God showed my husband many, many years ago.  Something I hate to admit, but I haven’t always stood behind.  Many years ago God showed my husband a vision of a venue, a safe place for youth and young adults to hang out and listen to music of course. If you know my husband at all you know music is a huge passion of his.  He’s been volunteering for years at different venues, working with teens in youth groups, even touring the country as the drummer in a band. Everything which has prepared both of us for what He has planned for us.

Last year we moved from Mooresville,NC to the middle of no where Cana, VA. I had no clue why God would move us here if He wanted us to create a youth hang out. There is nothing here! Apparently that was God’s point! A few months after moving up here we were introduced to a few people who also had the desire to create a venue. We started meeting with them monthly, then just decided we had to just set a date in stone for a first show, regardless of having no money for it, or a building, or bands. And we did. and EVERYTHING has fallen into place. Saturday is that first show.

After setting the date in stone, we prayed about a name. My husband had one that he had in his mind since God first gave him the vision, so we decided it would be that. A few nights later God had me awake for many, many hours. This was the night he confirmed everything to me, and got me 100% on board with it. He also spoke to me about all sorts of things. One being the name. The name God gave us is “The Battleground”.   He spoke to me about putting on the armor He gave me, and using it too. Because we are in the middle of a fight. Not against flesh and blood, but against satan.

Like I said, Saturday is the first show, and He has put everything in place.  and I cannot wait to see what He is going to do, whatever it is, satan is mad. He has been attacking us all week. First we all got colds, then there was a small stomach bug, and today Josiah has drainage in his ears and Caylee can’t seem to walk. She’ll try to walk, take a step then fall down in pain.

I am just so glad God put that song in my heart today, to remind me HE is bigger, HE is stronger, HE is healer. HE is awesome.

Wow! That is pretty cool. Looking forward to hearing more about it.
