Fish Tips
My husband and I have been eating fish a lot lately.
By a lot I mean about twice a month, but we never used to eat it before because the only thing I remembered about fish growing up was that the whole house smelled like fish for days.
Then my sister in law told me a trick a woman had taught her. Simmer a pot of cinnamon the stove while cooking the fish. I tried it, and it worked great.
Then My mom taught me a great trick which makes cooking the fish even easier.
I put the fish on a plate, put a little bit of lemon juice and some lemon pepper on it, then cover it with plastic wrap and put it in the microwave. It takes about 3 minutes for the fish I make. It would take longer if the fish was thicker.
So there you have it! Quick, easy, yummy fish!

Different fish smell more. When you were growing up they did not have much tilapia and some of the other milder fish were too expensive with 5 kids. Cod and blue fish smell strong, especially if you do not cut off the dark meat.
Sorry to leave you with a “bad taste in your mouth” over fish!
Love,
Mom

I worry about using plastic atop the fish – being plastic when heated can be a health concern. How about just a plate atop it, and still nuking it? – Regardless. I love to broil fish, but hub hates the smell – so I will try this sans plastic. next time. THANKS!

The lemon itself does help with the fish too. Air purifiers work great for us with all kitchen smells.
