Flooding

I’m sure most of you have heard about the terrible flooding that has taken place in the state of Washington. I had no clue it was as bad as it is until I read this post.

It put me in my place about it.

See, I first heard about the flooding on Tuesday morning as I read an email from Simple Cloth- the people I ordered some Cloth Diapers from a few days earlier. This is the email:

I just wanted to let you know that your shipment has been delayed slightly due to a storm and flooding that we’ve encountered in our area. Schools and roads have been closed, including the road right in front of the post office. (You can read about it here: http://www.theolympian.com/379/story/288648.html)You package is packed and labeled, I just need to wait for the roads to clear a bit to make it safely to the post office. Hopefully it will ship tomorrow. (Tuesday)

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kindest Regards,

Julie Triplett

Me, being the compassionate person I am, looked at the websites, said “wow, that’s bad” then thought “I wonder when I’ll get my diapers!?”

I didn’t look any further into the flooding, I just kept wondering when my diapers would get mailed out. Of course, the place I ordered the diapers from isn’t in the area that got hit the hardest, but I am sure there is still lots of clean up and devastation. I was still convicted of my selfish behavior after reading about the flooding.

I hope you took the time to read this post about the flooding and thought about what you could do to help out, it might be donating time, money or prayers- make sure you do something.
