BYE BYE Morning Sickness

I’m 9 weeks pregnant, and for the last 5 weeks, I’ve been nauseated- all day.I don’t know why it’s called morning sickness. Well, That all changes last week when my doctor recommended Sea Bands.

They are great. They’re for motion sickness, but they work extremely well for morning sickness. They put pressure on pressure points on your wrist, I wear them all the time (except for doing dishes and showering) and aside from looking like a dork, They are the best things ever.

So, if you struggle with morning sickness, I highly recommend them.

Wow. I wish someone had told me about those when I was expecting Matthew. I was sick all day everyday from the end of August untill Christmas. I had a month of feeling pretty good and the then heartburn hit. I hope you don’t get that. If you do the best stuff is Mylanta Supreme. Not regular liquid antacid, that stuff was worse than the heartburn.

I am so glad you found something that worked for you. Unfortunately I suffer from severe morning sickness too while pregnant. I lost 30 lbs with my son, this is the reason I am not having any more children. I wish these had been recommended to me at the time. Good luck to you.

While I was pregnant I tried to make these; I took some elastic, measured it to my wrist, and then put buttons where I thought my pressure points were. I’m honestly not sure if it worked or not, but I didn’t have terrible morning sickness, so I didn’t try them very often. I’m so glad that the bands are helping you! And if I haven’t already said it, “Congrats!”

I haven’t used these for morning sickness (never been preggers… yet) but I do use them when me and my husband go deep sea fishing. They work wonders! And don’t have the side effects that other nause meds do. Odd how they work but who cares as long as they work! Congrats to you!

I used these during my pregnancies and they worked beautifully. My last pregnancy was the worst sickness ever and nothing touched the nausea… not Sea Bands, not boatloads of nausea medications, nothing! I don’t know what the difference was but up until this last baby (and he’s number six), I’ve had wonderful success with Sea Bands!

Where do you get them? Can I find them at Walmart?

I am almost 16 weeks along with #5, and I have never been this sick for this long. I’ll try anything!

Oh, I have horrible morning sickness through about 24 weeks and then don’t feel well for the rest of my pregnancy. It’s happened all three times. The sea bands did nothing for me. If you get to a point where they don’t work, you can take half of a b-6 tablet (ask the pharmacy for 50mg) with half of a unisom (regular strength only) at bedtime. This works perfectly for me every time. It is FDA approved for morning sickness and an equivalent prescription medication has been used safely in Canada for over 30 years.

JoAnn, I started taking 200mg of B-6 at bedtime a few weeks before I tried the sea bands. The nurse had recommended it to me, but it doesn’t work for me. Amazing how some things work for some but not others.

I’m so glad that you’ve found something that works to ease the nausea! I think that Sea Bands are God’s gifts. I have the elastic ones like you have and also have a pair that work with a velcro buckle (I call those my fancy ones.) :)

You could also try ginger tablets or candied ginger.
