CVS

It has been 3 weeks since I went to CVS. I know, it’s scary huh? Between feeling icky (which is now gone thanks to my sea bands) and being tired I just haven’t felt the urge to go.

However, Extra Care Bucks(ECB’s) don’t last forever (boo) and mine were going to expire on the 23rd, so I had to go this week. I wouldn’t want to lose $23.

The deals this week weren’t too exciting to me, but I made it work ok. I still lost $9. Here’s what I got:

Diapers, toilet paper, zip lock bags, batteries, valentine’s day cards (for next year of course) and a 3 musketeers mint. Wait… that’s not in the picture. I wonder where it could have gone… Ok, I ate it. But have you tried them? They are either straight from Heaven, or Satan’s next product to temp me.

So the deal was, spend $30, get $15. I had a $4/$20 CVS coupon, a $1.25 off coupon for the huggies, a $1.00 coupon off the Ziploc, and .50 off the Cottonelle.

My total before tax and coupons was $32.33. After coupons, $25.28. Tax was .61. I spent $24.98 in ECB’s and $1.21 out of pocket, I got back $15 in ECB’s. So.. I spent $9.98. Not near as good as my previous CVS trips, but the lack of deals, and lack of CVS coupons made it hard to get really good deals.

Anyway, that’s My CVS experience, what’s yours?

I heard you can do the same kind of savings at Wal greens. We do not have a CVS and I want one more and more as you post your shopping savings. Any tips?

Walgreen’s does similar things, they have an easy savers catalog each month, and you can get money back (rebates). This month they have a lot of free after rebate items. They also have sales that promote Register rewards, which is money you can spend at walgreen’s. http://WWW.moneysavingmom.com has lots of good information on getting started with both. here’s the link to her walgreen’s 101
